Despite my daughter loving all things CoComelon, I was hesitant to take her to this live event due to her age (22 months at the time) and the 7pm show time. I was lucky enough to win tickets to CoCoMelon Live! JJ's Journey from a Macaroni KID Chicago Northside giveaway, and so off we went, very excitedly.
The second we walked into the Rosemont Theatre, my daughter's eyes lit up with all the CoCoMelon signage and memorabilia. In an attempt to save money, we skipped the merch booth, but did snag an overpriced light up wand on the way to our seats.
The show started about 15 minutes past 7, but once the lights went out, any ounce of sleepiness was instantly gone for both of us. The graphics from the intro set the tone for the rest of the show, which lacked no energy. The cast was vibrant, and had Salma on her toes dancing the entire time.
The first act runs for 40 minutes, followed by a 15 minute intermission, and a 30 minute second act. Because of the timing, we played it safe and left during intermisison. While my daughter didn't know there was a second act because of her young age, I was a bit bummed that she was missing the other half, because she enjoyed the first 40 minutes so much.
If we had the chance to go again, I'd happily pay for tickets to watch this little girl dance her heart out again.
